Biography
Arvin Golrokh, born in Teheran in 1992, is an Iranian artist working between Teheran and Turin, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts. His work explores the tension between his experiences in Iran and the Western world, focusing on how governments and society shape public perception. He examines the use of propaganda through imagery and the erasure of historical and cultural memory to control the collective ima- gination. Golrokh contrasts this by creating art that reawakens suppressed memories and historical truths.
His style uses traditional painting and drawing techniques, often deconstructing and fragmenting forms. His compositions are characterized by dense spaces filled with figures, vivid colors, and a sense of disorientation, challenging the viewer’s perception and exposing the contradictions in societal authority and representation.
