Goldsmith craftsman and teacher at the IED in Rome. key feature of his work is experimentation. Interested in new technologies in jewelry, Mangano, focuses his research on the combination of tradition and modernity. In his lab, next to the typical tools of a goldsmith's shop, you can find laser technology and 3D printers, in order to "open the craft to new possibilities and solutions."
In his creations he tackles hybrid routes, in which the manual skills and knowledge meet with the experimentation of new instruments.
The materials represent an opportunity to remedy the tradition, metals and gems are joined by new materials, the precious jewel born from the creative idea and the history that it represents. Mangano collaborates with contemporary artists, providing the ability to recreate their poetic declined in jewelry design. Some of the artists he has worked with are Enzo Cucchi, Paolo Canevari, Giorgio Vigna, Hedi Martinelli and Paola Volpi.
